Here’s another and final, short peek at my shootings during the Paris 2018 Gay games, this time with urban dancing and wrestling.
Here are some shots of the dance gala of the Gay games 10, held in Paris from August 4th to 12th. Many thanks to the organizers for a lovely event !
On July 15th, the French football team (psst.. talking about soccer here) won the FIFA world cup in Russia, causing scenes of jubilation in the streets, throughout the country. These provided pretty good pictures.
And here is the opening of my 2018 season with a celebration of love and diversity. You’ll find below these lines a little glimpse of the 2018 Paris Pride parade, held on june 30th.
The FIAC is the French international fair of contemporary art, which took place from the 19th to the 22nd of October this year. Most of the event happened in the Grand Palais, but it was accompanied by the usual outdoor exhibitions in public venues.
A homage to general Leclerc was organized this October. It celebrated the man who became known as the liberator of Paris during the second World War for entering the city first, with an armored division, helped by the pressure of US and allied forces coming from Normandy.
Since 1998, the Techno parade brings together lovers of electronic music and heavy beats for a dancing stroll through the streets of Paris. The pictures were taken at the end of the march, around Nation plaza, as the party was winding down (and before it started over again in night clubs).
I got myself a first studio experience ! There isn’t much research on the composition of the portraits below, the exercise was more about lighting. Still, they show the definition you can reach in such ideal conditions, and that’s amazing. I hope for more opportunities to practice with such equipment.
I saw the Alex Monfort Trio, a jazz band named after its young talented pianist, at a club called le baiser salé (the savory kiss). The other members are Samuel F’hima on the double bass and Tom Peyron on the drums, with, that night, a surprise fourth on the saxophone who rocked some improvised solos. Definitely a fun evening.
I attended day 5 of the UWW world championships 2017 that took place in Paris. The freestyle wrestling was great fun and quite impressive to watch. As for photography, I was in the public (i.e. not in the press & photographers box) and material that could be taken in the arena was quite limited. Thus, no portrait or real highlights of wrestling moves, I stuck to atmospheric, ambient shots.
