Culture, culture…
Here is the Manufacture des Oeillets (eyelets), a cultural center in the southern suburbs of Paris. It includes a theatre, a contemporary art center and a graphic arts school.
A midsummer night’s dream
The beginning of this month was the opportunity for me to venture in the backstage of a theatre play and to shoot their final run-through. Nothing less than a midsummer night’s dream by Shakespeare : a rather ambitious choice for a troupe of amateurs, but there’s nothing theatre cannot show with a hint of imagination.
Enfants-Rouges
A visit of the Enfant-Rouges market square.
Klimt in lights
In April 2018, the Culturespace network created the Atelier des Lumières in Paris. This new digital art center was installed in the building of an old foundry that used to produce cast iron. The inaugural lightshow was themed around Klimt, actually encompassing the Vienna secession more broadly, in particular with pieces from Egon Schiele. These were presented together with original creations.
Not about Daniel Linehan
This year, my visit of the Paris international fair of contemporary art (FIAC) turned out to be a lot about Brussels-based American dancer Daniel Linehan, who was invited for a couple performances.
Om mani padme hum
For the 6th time, the Journal du Yoga organized a yoga fair in Paris, under the high patronage of the embassy of India. Adepts could meet during 4 days, bringing together many of this disciplin’s aspects, but also a lot of activities and products related to the lifestyle (ayurvedic medicine, incense, veggie food, recycled items etc.).
Techno Parade 20
The 20th Techno Parade took place last September in Paris, spreading heavy beats from the Louvre to the place d’Italie. The cold autumnal rain of the beginning didn’t wash away the enthusiasm of this fun dancey mob.
Kadamati
This giant choreography signed by Akram Khan, in association with the théâtre du Châtelet, brought together over 700 dancers of all levels in front of the Paris city hall. Many congratulations to them for the beautiful show, and enduring the crushing heat of that day.
The globe and the circle
Here are pictures of the Existe en Ciel circus solo, performed by acrobat, dancer and comedian Théo Touvet. The title of the show is a pun suggesting that something exists up in the sky, while sounding like the word “existential”.
